Safety
Here
at Sudden Impact we take the issue of safety to be our utmost priority. All
games are controlled by experienced marshals who are there both to control the
games and also to keep all players safe. We have, in the past, sin-binned and
even kicked people off for being stupid such as continued dangerous play, after
being warned, and taking their mask off during a game. We are very strict on safety
and monitor the games very carefully - providing everyone obeys the safety guidelines
we just watch, and get hit occasionally! Also, anyone caught deliberately aiming
at the marshals is sent home, and that has happened once or twice as well! ALL
players must wear a special paintball mask when playing to protect their eyes
- the eye is the weakest point on the body and a paintball, infact any projectile,
hitting the eye at a reasonable velocity is liable to penetrate and possibly enter
the brain. And that isn't good, in fact it could be fatal hence the protective
mask. Are
players are given NBC camo suits to wear which offer great protection to the body,
and eliminate much of the sting from getting hit. We do not use 'standard paintball
site' camos as they are too thin and offer no protection what so ever. You
may also like to know that Sudden Impact has never had anyone needing to claim
under our insurance for injury or any other reason for that matter. We keep our
eyes on the balls (excuse the pun) and keep you safe. We are in fact one of the
few sites in the country that has never had an insurance claim - we also have
a number of staff who are qualified in first aid. The
only incident that we have really had is when a guy slipped, after being told
not to run as it was very muddy due to heavy rain, and fell onto his gun thus
pulling his shoulder out of the socket. A quick visit to Blackpool Victoria Hospital
and he was out joining his mates for his friends stag party that evening - the
pain was soon nulled! Paintball
is the safest sport in the world according to insurance and medical statistics,
in fact paintball is safer than ten-pin-bowling! It apparently has a 0.003% (national
US statistics) of injuries to the number of players playing in any 12 month period.
In other words 3 people in 1000 might injure themselves - this could be something
as simple as spraining their ankle during a game. Risk
Assessment A full risk assessment has been completed for base camp, safe
area and the gaming areas. This is a continual operation to ensure that areas
of risk are eliminated wherever possible. Click
